Buika – An Evening for the Soul

The US-based Spanish singer, poet, composer, and music producer Concha Buika, known for her characteristic fusion of flamenco with copla, jazz, soul, and African polyrhythms, brings her new show to Abu Dhabi for a one-off performance.

She has a stunning voice and an broad range of influences – “I understand all the musics of the world,” she told an interviewer. “I believe I can sing in any language, any rhythm.” Indeed, she has duetted with everyone from Pat Metheny and Anoushka Shankar to Nelly Furtado and Seal; and she has nominations for the Latin Grammy Award Album of the Year (2008) and for Best Latin Jazz Album (in 2014, for La Noche Más Larga). Her performances are always heartfelt, often exciting, and usually unmissable. Recommended.
