The title of this concert certainly sets the bar high, though it seems a pretty good selection of the composer’s works for piano. The pianist is Magdalena Wajdzik, and the other plus is the way these recitals are lit by candlelight. The programme last around 65 minutes:
♦ “Für Elise” (Bagatelle no.25 in A minor)
♦ Piano Sonata No.21 op.31 (Waldsten) – 1st movement
♦ Piano Sonata op.13 ‘Pathetique’ – 1st, 2nd and 3rd movements
♦ Piano Sonata op. 27 No.2 (Moonlight) – 1st, 2nd and 3rd movements
♦ Symphony No.5 (transcription for solo piano by Liszt) – 1st Movement
