Visualizing Palestine: Gaza in Context

Aline Batarseh, Executive Director of Visualizing Palestine talks about her organisation’s most recent work contextualising the crisis in Gaza — from infographics to videos to interactive platforms – while also providing insight into Visualizing Palestine’s process for data collection and visualisation over the past 12 years.

VP is a non-profit launched in 2012 that uses data and research to visually communicate Palestinian experiences to advance a fact-based narrative on Palestine. VP’s infographics have been used in art exhibitions, public education, awareness raising, research, and academia in more than 90 countries.

Batarseh will be joined in conversation with Lawrence Abu Hamdan, artist and founder of the audio research agency, Earshot.ngo. Abu Hamdan ’s work has been presented in the form of forensic reports, lectures and live performances, films, publications, and exhibitions all over the world.
