The Territory Dreams Back
A group exhibition of newly commissioned and recent works by Rajni Perera, Sancintya Mohini Simpson, Soma Surovi Jannat, Karan Shrestha and Rain Wu, five artists who offer different perspectives on our relationship with place.
Says the gallery: “The Territory Dreams Back moves between mythology and memory, migration and ecology, political power and the systems through which places are mapped and organised. At its heart is the idea that places are shaped by more than their physical geography. Land and water hold histories and memories; stories and beliefs influence how landscapes are understood; political decisions affect who can access and control land; and maps and infrastructure can change the environments they set out to describe …”
To 15 January.
