The Story of Art: A Story with an Open End – Contemporary Art
18 June @ 11.00 am — 12.30 pm
Free, but pre-registerBassam Freiha Art Foundation’s monthly lecture series, led by Dr Michaela Watrelot, BFAF Curator and Director of Exhibitions, continues with an exploration of the diversity of artistic practices that have shaped art since 1970, reflecting a period in which artists continued to challenge traditional boundaries of form and meaning. The lecture will trace key movements and ideas that redefined the role of the artist and the artwork, from Minimalism to Conceptual and Performance Art via Donald Judd, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cy Twombly, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Banksy, and other artists who continue to shape contemporary visual culture today.
