Prof. Leonardo Barilaro, Visiting Associate Professor of Space Technology and Sonic Arts and Lead for the Space Art Laboratory at NYUAD, examines how music and artistic practice can connect scientific research with human experience, from creative interventions in space missions to explorations of the “algorithmic sky.” Drawing on work at the NYUAD Space Art Laboratory, a pioneering research environment that organically integrates advanced space systems engineering with deep artistic inquiry, the presentation considers how art can serve as a tool for research, experimentation, and expression, while raising new questions about creativity, identity, and who gets to shape humanity’s voice in space.
