Seulgi Kim: Ride the Wave

Seulgi Kim’s first solo exhibition in the Middle East brings to Volery Gallery a deeply personal exploration of her emotional journey,. The sea, which plays a central role in her work, becomes a metaphor for life’s turbulence and tranquillity; her depictions of crashing waves and steady rocks speak to resilience in the face of life’s challenges. And they feature her characteristic figures, navigating the passage from childhood to adulthood, boys and girls learning how to fit into their own individual adulthood – the innocence of youth is juxtaposed with the weight of adult responsibilities.
