Sébastien Labrunie: Brèche

“An organic dive through matter, light and memory,” says the blurb. “This hybrid narrative sculpture blurs the line between macro and micro perspectives while connecting moments and places of the past.” Labrunie’s first large-scale immersive installation (first seen back in 2019), Brèche is a very personal audiovisual work that combines techniques from video games and VR with analogue and digital glitch art. The sound design by the Taiwanese sound artist Lu Yi is a vital element, merging cinematic drones with ‘noise music’ “As the 3D collage sequences of Brèche expand, the viewer is slowly drawn into the centre of the ‘breach’ where matter and memories dissolve into pulses of primal, raw energy …” To 17 October.
