Roots and Reflections: A Journey through Time and Nature

A group show for four contemporary artists, curated by Mara Firetti around three central themes: memory and identity, nature and environment, and innovation and experimentation. Californian Robert Santoré explores his personal history and cultural roots; African-American artist Halim Flowers draws on his personal experiences to consider race, identity, and the human condition; marble sculptures by Sylvestre Gauvrit reflect on our relationship with the natural world; the carved wooden wall pieces of Jason Middlebrook serve as canvases for geometric compositions that reference the works of artists such as Ellsworth Kelly and Frank Stella.
