PowerPointless
One of the most consistently funny of the Courtyard’s classic improv gigs: the speakers have to give a presentation on a slide deck they’ve never seen before, with the topic determined at random by the Wheel of Destiny. Each presentation will be rated by a panel of judges and the winner applauded as the PowerPointless champion.
The presenters: Rami Boraie (reigning champion); Ahmed Al Achrafi (“the Sultan of Spontaneity and Maestro of Multilingual Motivation”); Kyle Herselman (who’s spent his entire – albeit brief – working life in theatre and improvisation); Lucy Kitson (actress, storyteller, comedian, self-proclaimed expert in the fine art of pretending to have it all together); and Alana Hicks (acting teacher who aims to prove that teaching and acting aren’t so different). There’s a Special Guest Presenter too – Nicholas Ashkar, head of the education division at Publicis Groupe.
It’s free, with donations welcome; but you need to put your name on the guestlist (via the website: it’s first-come first-served, so get there early enough to grab a seat).
