Malik Thomas Jalil Kydd’s second solo exhibition marks a significant evolution in his practice, says the gallery – “one in which desire and divinity are intertwined and rendered in quiet persistence”. Previous works often situated their subjects within expansive landscapes, imbued with a mythological presence; this time the figures shift throughout domestic interiors and intimate encounters, all the while becoming increasingly human; “they are no longer vessels for projection alone but subjects encountered in their own right”.
To 5 January.
