LAST CHANCE Eman Alhashemi: Superficial Transactions

Alhashemi’s second solo exhibition at the gallery is her first after returning from the States with a Master’s in Fine Arts. Curated by Nasser Abdullah, this exhibition presents a series of works that build on her previous experiences, “appearing as annotations and reflections that encapsulate different phases she has undergone since the beginning of her career”. From her early days with hand-printing and producing repetitive editions, she has moved on to sculpture and ceramics, then performance art and multimedia video; her practice is characterised by an ability to embrace mistakes and inconsistencies across editions, a reconciled perspective on imperfection and difference that echoes the diversity of human nature.
