The first Project Space exhibition of the new season features a series of paintings, sculptures, and installations through which Susan Doe explores ideas of intersectionality, rooted in her own bicultural upbringing. Says the gallery: “Reflecting on her Chinese American background, the artist blends together disparate elements to create something unexpected. Through this process, she plays with illusions of materiality, making metal threads appear soft and weaving paper to mimic large solid sculptures.”
