LAST CHANCE Hussein Sharif: Re-framing Reality

The Culture Foundation’s big summer show is a major survey of four decades of work showcasing the multidisciplinary practice across painting, drawing, collage and sculpture of an artist acknoweldged as one of the UAE’s key postmodernists (he was one of the Five founders of contemporary art in the Emirates, including his brother Hassan, Abdullah Al Saadi, Mohammed Kazem and Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim).

Hussein Sharif worked with various mediums to respond to his surrounding environment and current realties and used recycled materials extensively as a way of processing the seismic changes of UAE society. This new show, curated by Aysha Al Hemeiri and Zuhoor Al Sayegh, features installations that encourage the audience to interact with the work.
