Humanist vampire seeking consenting suicidal person: dir Ariane Louis-Seize (2023)

This Canadian vampire comedy horror stars Sara Montpetit as Sasha, a young vampire with a serious problem: she’s too sensitive to kill. When her exasperated parents cut off her blood supply, Sasha’s life is in jeopardy; luckily, she meets Paul, a lonely teenager with suicidal tendencies who is willing to give his life to save hers. Their friendly agreement soon becomes a nocturnal quest to fulfil Paul’s last wishes before day breaks … It’s a film that has a lot of fun with the vampire motifs, while at heart it’s a love story for teen misfits.

This screening, which is in French with English subtitles, is part of SUAD’s Francofilm Festival– a series of five films showing on consecutive nights between 19 and 23 April, celebrating the French language and the diversity of Francophone cinema.
