Flavio Lucchini: Hair

An exhibition of 23 works by the Italian art director/publisher of high fashion magazines. They’re highly graphic in style, with bold lines and strong colours, and as the title implies they consider women through the hair, the only precise detail in a face without features. Says the artist: “These are not portraits. They are memories of emotions  … At my age, I take pleasure in seeing life full of hope. The faces that come to mind I see as flowers in a garden or in the fields. All beautiful, all different. They don’t have features but colours. They sway in the wind, gaze into the eyes of the future, and are recognised by detail …”
