Closing Program: Spring 2024 Exhibitions

Most exhibitions open with a bang and close with much less fanfare, so 421 is to be commended for marking the end of its current shows – Mona Ayyash: The Clock Doesn’t Care and On a Timeline: 2024 MFA Graduate Show – with a programme featuring tours and workshops that give audiences a final chance to experience the exhibitions:

• 2-5pm: Writing on Watching & Waiting – workshop by Mona Ayyash
• 5-6pm: Full guided tour of both exhibitions
• 6-8pm: “light dinner”

Mona Ayyash’s creative writing workshop mirrors the themes in her exhibition. Attendees are encouraged to observe, contemplate, and write as performers engage in a fictional narrative that questions the notion of wasting time, waiting, and doing nothing; as with a life drawing session, participants engage in group discussions and collective creative writing while observing people.

The workshop is charged-for at AED 60 (book here) but the exhibition tours are free.
