Artist Talks | Sheher, Prakriti, Devi

Ishara Art Foundation presents talks by Gauri Gill, Shefalee Jain and Mariam Suhail with their first public presentations in the UAE – the ongoing exhibition Sheher, Prakriti, Devi, which Gauri Gill has curated. Moderated by media and culture theorist Rashmi Devi Sawhney and curator Sabih Ahmed, the talks (and the following Q&As) delve into the complexities of the artists’ respective practices, exploring the concepts and contexts that shape their work. The schedule kicks off with a tour of the exhibition (led by Gill) at Ishara Art Foundation (5-5.20pm) followed by the talks in Alserkal Arts Foundation’s Common Room, Warehouse 51 – Gauri Gill talks with Sawhney between 5.30 and 6.30pm, then Shefalee Jain and Mariam Suhail are moderated by Sabih Ahmed from 6.30 to 7.30pm.
