Sliman Mansour: Promises and Scars

15 November 2026 · Free
Warehouse 46 · Alserkal Avenue, Dubai

A mini-retrospective for Sliman Mansour during Alserkal Art Week 2026 covering five decades of his work – “the first time since 2011 that such an extensive body of the artist’s work has been brought together in a single exhibition”, says Fann à Porter, which is organising it.

The works in this exhibition demonstrate how Mansour experimented with forms and materiality with an open eye to their politics. Mansour’s idealised landscapes and figures are celebrated for introducing a people to itself – images that promise a progressive anti-colonial romance with a guaranteed happy ending, in which an oppressed people march confidently towards a destined freedom.

Mansour died in August. “This exhibition was originally planned to open in April in his presence; it now opens in his bitter absence.”
