A conversation moderated by Sarah Almehairi that explores Wafa Al Falahi’s practice across painting, sculpture, and drawing, “where instinctive encounters with material give form to the subconscious”. The discussion traces how memory and dream take shape through the creatures and landscapes that populate her work that are at once familiar and uncanny.
Al Falahi is an Emirati multidisciplinary artist whose practice deploys painting, sculpture and drawing to give form to the subconscious. Her first solo show opened recently in Alserkal Avenue.
Artist Talks is an artist-to-artist conversation series founded by Sarah Almehairi in 2020, bringing together creatives based in or affiliated with the UAE to discuss their practices.
