CLOSING TODAY Studio, Wounds, and Battles

An exhibition by seven emerging UAE-based artists, beneficiaries of Dom Arts’ Studio Support Programme (introduced to gave artists space and time to develop their practices without requiring them to produce new work or meet predetermined outcomes).

The programme gave each artist space and time to explore their practice without the pressure to produce a specific outcome, allowing for experimentation, uncertainty, mistakes and new directions. The show has works by Joumana Mortada, Meher Afroz Vahid, Rabila Kidwai, Aisha Alhammadi (work in progress, right), Divyaaunshi Purohit and Teng Miras. Rather than presenting only finished works, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the creative process by including experiments, works in progress, research and completed pieces developed during their time in the studios.
