Winter Special – Theatresports: Santas vs Elves

A newish Courtyard tradition: competitive improv. In Theatresports, teams of improvisors compete against each other for points awarded by a panel of judges. The teams issue challenges to each other on the seasonal theme, and the judges are looking for how well the improvisors react (usually in terms of narrative, technique, and entertainment – judges can hand out warnings or penalties for being boring). One team will get through to win the coveted Theatresports trophy … It’s great fun, and it’s free. You need to put your name down on the webpage’s guestlist, though, and turn up early because the RSVP doesn’t guarantee you a seat. There’s a second Theatresports Special on 13 December.
