Waterlands, Elemental Dreams

Day two of a weekend symposium on water – “two days of conversations, presentations and artistic exchange exploring ecological, social, mythological and poetic dimensions of water, bringing together artists, scientists, legal thinkers and researchers”.

Extending Jumana Emil Abboud’s ongoing exhibition The Storyteller and the Obedient Tide, the afternoon draws on performance, storytelling and material research to explore water as a site of sovereignty, dispossession, ritual and resistance.

The programme includes the opening of the Artist’s Garden Amphibious Timelapse, with a conversation with creators the Rice Brewing Sisters’ Club. They will be among the participating artists alongside Sherko Abbas, Jumana Emil Abboud, Katya Garcia-Anton, Reem Rizk, Ahmad Nabil, and Raghad Saqfelheit.
