UAE National Orchestra: Sing for the Nation

The UAE National Orchestra and choir puts the emphasis on ‘national’ with “an evening where we come together in love for the nation, sharing moments of pride and belonging … a space where we gather as sons and daughters of this homeland – citizens and residents alike”. The audience is invited to sing along to “songs that are familiar to us all, melodies that have accompanied our celebrations and special occasions, and are deeply engraved in our memories”, plus “works by leading poets and composers who have shaped our national memory”. They include Dar Zayed, a song that traiditionally evokes a sense of belonging; Sawf Nahmi Al Etihad (We Will Protect the Union); Rijal Wallah Rijal, from the poem by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Zanaha Zayed, a song that recalls the story of transformation the nation has witnessed.
