Tim Orr: This Scene Was About

Noted US improviser Tim Orr (founder of SF’s Improv Playhouse, duo shows with Inbal Lori, leading roles in Bay Area plays and improvised feature films, performer and teacher at numerous festivals and/or as an invited guest artist) brings the improv performance technique that celebrates connection, emotion and ensemble storytelling to Dubai. Originally created in Bogotá, Colombia in 2017 by Italian improviser Favio Maccioni, the format grew out of an intensive workshop exploring the ideas of emotional mirroring and reading scenes as a gift; scenes unfold in ways that are sometimes obvious and sometimes surprising, inviting audiences into unexpected connections, emotional depth and moments of shared discovery.
