The Last Rifleman: dir Terry Sloane (2023)

A film for the 80th anniversary of D-Day and inspired by true events, The Last Rifleman is a moving drama starring Pierce Brosnan in one of his best roles as a WWII veteran living in a care home in Northern Ireland who escapes to embark on an arduous but inspirational journey to Normandy to pay his final respects to his best friend and find the courage to face the ghosts of his past. Highly recommended.
