Charlie Chaplin’s tramp goes looking for gold and fortune in the Klondike, gets mixed up with some burly characters, falls in love with the beautiful Georgia (Georgia Hale) and tries to win her heart … It’s the now-familiar mix, but none the worse for that; and some of the gags are just brilliant. This is reputedly the film that Chaplin most wanted to be remembered for.
This Cinema Space presentation is a new restoration of the original silent film, complete with a newly recorded orchestral score.
