Sorry We Missed You: dir Ken Loach (2019)

Characteristically powerful social drama of the British working class from Ken Loach. This wrenching, intimate family drama exposes the dark side of the so-called ‘gig economy; an unrelenting work schedule, a ruthless supervisor and the needs of their two teenage children cripple the dreams of delivery van driver Ricky and his care-assistant wife Abby. As always, Loach gets superb acting from his relatively unknown ensemble cast, and the reviews wwre uniformly enthusiastic – “brilliant”, “utterly absorbing”, “unmissable”.
