Rayyane Tabet: The Return

This performance piece traces the 50-year journey of a marble sculpture depicting a bull’s head, using interviews as well as inventory lists, photographs, legal documents and other evidence presented to the New York Supreme Court from investigations that lasted for years. Eventually restituted to Lebanon, the sculpture is now on display at the National Museum in Beirut.
There are performances on 27 and 28 January.
Originally scheduled for last Autumn and postponed in sympathy with the plight of Gaza, this is part of the second season of Perform Sharjah, Sharjah Art Foundation’s performance programme that invites you “to encounter new experiences while exploring the heritage houses and art spaces of the city”. Perform Sharjah is curated by Sharjah Art Foundation’s Director of Performance and Senior Curator Tarek Abou El Fetouh.
