The International Nature Namur Festival (FINN) claims to be “the must-attend event for nature and beautiful image enthusiasts”, attracting over 35,000 spectators and visitors to the Belgian city each year for its three international image competitions – photos, amateur films, professional films – and its various nature activities. If you’re in Europe this autumn, the 29th edition takes place 13-22 October; otherwise you can get a taste of the event at Alliance Franςaise Dubai.
There are screenings of the Festival’s award-winning nature shorts from 2022 at 10am onwards (and you get to vote in the Dubai public-choice winner). And at 11am the photography exhibition opens, with images from the 2022 Festival plus finalists from the local UAE Nature Photography competition (selected by the noted Belgian photographer Michel D’Oultremont).
On top of that’s there’s regional 0% beers and hot Liège waffles, which magpie can heartily recommend
