Music On The Barge: Ruhaniyat

Featuring vocals, tabla and harmonium, Ruhaniyat’s music is influenced by Hindustani classical traditions and Sufi poetry alongside contemporary influences. The ensemble is led by vocalist Hetartho Chatterjee, whose practice bridges raga, Sufi, ghazal and popular forms; this performance on the floating stage on Khalid Lake is part of the fourth edition of Sharjah Art Foundation’s Perform Sharjah programme.
