This acclaimed interactive experience for the young has been a major success for Sydney Opera House; it’s a 40-minute show aimed at children aged 2 to 10 (and their families) which blends live music, storytelling, and song to introduce young audiences to the world of classical music “in a fun, participatory, and inclusive environment”; Mozart, his wife and a string quartet help the audience explore the instruments, scores, and themes that characterise his best known compositions.
The show has curriculum connections to Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Social Studies – History & Culture and is reportedly great for Emotional Development. A free teacher’s resource pack provides classroom exercises and curriculum links.
There are performances at 11am, 2pm and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday (2-3 November) and 9am and 11am on monday and tuesday (4-5 November); it moves on to Cultural Foundation Abu Dhabi for performances on 7-9 November.
