Four more standups, perhaps a bit more varied than usual and featuring a couple of good local comics on the bill for a change. Dana Alexander (originally from Canada, now based there and in the UK) tours a lot and has been a hit in Dubai before; her style has been described as “smart, irreverent and revolutionary” which bodes well. Jimmy Mcghie is another hard-working international tourer, whose 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show was reviewed in the Scotsman as “one of the most accomplished hours of comedy you will find here this month. Or, to be honest, anywhere, any time …” If loose Women was more outrageous, Dubai’s very own Bronwyn Byrnes would be a regular – we’re promised “a hilarious journey of life in Dubai”. Also UAE-based is Miqdaad Dohadwala, who founded the comedy collective VDesi Laughs and has been seen regularly at gigs in Dubai.
