Khalif Tahir Thompson / Summer Wheat: Jewels

The first in The Gallery Collective, a series of sort-of gallery takeovers whereby Sotheby’s Dubai is giving its DIFC exhibition space over to a series of local galleries in a two-year run starting in November. Every six to eight weeks, a partner gallery will curate a show in the space. First up is Zidoun-Bossuyt Gallery with a two-hander, showing the works by NYC-based Khalif Tahir Thompson (“emotionally charged pieces, characterised [by] a vivid colour palette, explore themes of identity, cultural heritage, and personal narrative”) and the American Summer Wheat (“textured, vibrant paintings [that] focus on femininity, labour, and community through bold, figurative compositions and innovative use of materials”). To 6 January.
