Katia and Marielle Labèque

We’re promised “an original and innovative musical programme” from the Labèque sisters, and they never disappoint. Noted for their impeccable synchronicity, electrifying energy, and deftness of interpretation, the sisters “have transformed the piano duo” (New York Times) and “their musical line always sounds as if it’s being woven for the very first time” (The Times). For this Abu Dhabi Festival recital, the programme begins and ends with music from two Philip Glass opera inspired by Jean Cocteau – La Belle et la Bête and Les Enfants Terribles – which bookend Ravel’s Ma Mère l’Oye (Mother Goose) piano duet.
