If Music Can Speak: The Moldau by Bedřich Smetana
3 April @ 8.00 pm — 9.30 pm
AED 75A lecture-performance with the Firdaus Orchestra that breaks down the music to reveal the hidden stories and craftsmanship behind the Bohemian composer’s symphonic poem, a work which aims to evoke the flow of the Vltava River – in German, the Moldau – through the Czech countryside to the city of Prague. The Moldau captures in music Smetana’s love of his homeland; live demonstrations will show how the music is built from its historical context to its rich orchestration before the orchestra gives a full performance of the piece.
