Hamilton: An American Musical

The multi award winning musical is making its Middle Eastern debut for an extended run at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena (to 11 February). Lin-Manuel Miranda’s book, music and lyrics have created something of a revolutionary moment in theatre – it’s a musical that has genuinely had a profound impact on culture, politics and education. Hamilton is a sung-and-rapped-through biography of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and his involvement in the American Revolution; Miranda has described Hamilton as about “America then, as told by America now”.

Weekday performances are at 8pm (not Mondays) with prices from AED 180; weekends carry a price premium (seats from AED 240!) with two performances a day on most Saturdays and Sundays. Here’s the summary:
