Classic Arts Center programming for this End of Summer Dance Party in the Black Box theatre – a genre-defying concert that puts two very different kinds of artist in each half. From Gaye Su Akyol you get an innovative mix of Turkish psychedelia and folk song, surf music and 90s Western rock; TootArd, a genre-fluid duo comprising brothers Hasan and Rami Nakhleh, presents a fusion of global pop hooks and quarter-tone melodic lines to deliver a distinctive blend of disco and dance music that draws inspiration from the rich musical traditions of SWANA (SouthWest Asia, North Africa) and beyond.

There are two performances: on 19 September Gaye Su Akyol (above) performs first, on 20 September it’s TootArd.
