Fridge Concert Series 40: Oxygen Trio by Tarek Skaikar / Imbue

For the 40th Fridge Concert Series, the Fridge’s people have paired new acts with alumni of past concert series for one-off guest collaborations – “merging voices, genres and artistic styles to create memorable music moments”. This gig celebrates International Jazz Day, apparently, though they’re a bit late (it was 30 April). Oxygen Trio by Tarek Skaikar is an established jazz combo with some cool contemporary tunes and flamenco influences; joining the Trio on stage will be Imbue from season 20, another combo worth seeking out – a four-piece that somehow mixes bossa nova, straight ahead jazz and Arabic melodies. Should be good.
