Farhad Ahrarnia: No Scheherazade

Farhad Ahrania’s fourth solo exhibition at this gallery celebrates all things 1980s via “a multi-textual autopsy which invariably examines the complex legacy of Princess Diana [and] Keith Haring”. In particular, Ahrania looks at the flip side of 80s glitz, the spectre of HIV and AIDS Says the gallery: “The artist’s longstanding interest in Saqqakhaneh, Constructivism and Surrealism come to the fore in a highly detailed, handmade and scrutinising body of work which touches, cuts and taps deeply into the collective memories of our times”.
