The third feature film from screenwriter, actor and director Emmanuel Courcol is a sensitive work that matches music and meaningful relationships. Thibaut, an acclaimed orchestra conductor, diagnosed with leukaemia ,discovers that he is adopted when a DNA test to find a possible bone marrow donor reveals a biological brother, Jimmy. The two meet up; Jimmy is a factory worker who plays trombone in a local marching band. When the band loses its conductor, Thibaut steps in as replacement, and the brothers learn more about the circumstances that have shaped each other’s lives …
This screening, which is in French with English subtitles, opens SUAD’s Francofilm Festival– a series of five films showing on consecutive nights between 19 and 23 April, celebrating the French language and the diversity of Francophone cinema.
