Dubai Singers & Orchestra: Verdi Requiem

What looks like the largest and most ambitious concert yet – in nearly 60 years of performance – for Dubai Singers & Orchestra. Some 90 singers and a 60-piece orchestra will perform the seven-part requiem mass, one of classical music’s greatest showcases (not least because Verdi applied his operatic inclinations to the subject). Four professional soloists are flying in from the UK too: Elizabeth Donovan (soprano), Hannah Pedley (mezzo-soprano), Matthew Minter (tenor) and Christopher Sheldrake (bass). Music Director Jennie Lee-Foster conducts. Should be a good evening.
