Documenting a Performing Arts History

The Arts Center at NYUAD has produced a commemorative five-volume bilingual book The Arts Center – Building a performing arts community on Saadiyat Island to mark its development from before its official beginning in 2015 to its current position as a cornerstone for the arts in Abu Dhabi and the UAE generally. This panel discussion has NYUAD Vice Chancellor Vice Chancellor Mariët Westermann moderating a conversation with key figures involved in the book’s creation to explore the significance and meaning of arts documentation while reflecting on their collaborative journey – Bill Bragin, Executive Artistic Director, The Arts Center, NYUAD; Nadine Khalil, editor, curator, and critic; and Waleed Shah, photographer and entrepreneur.
