DJ Spooky

An evening of vibrant New York electronica and hip-hop from DJ Spooky (aka That Subliminal Kid, and Paul D Miller to his mum). He’s long been one of the most interesting faces on the club-mix scene; he’s a composer, multimedia artist, writer, editor (of The Imaginary App, an anthology of essays about how apps have changed everything), creator of music mixer apps for iOS, and a producer who has collaborated with an array of recording artists from Metallica and Chuck D to Steve Reich and Yoko Ono. His work immerses audiences in a blend of genres, global culture, and environmental and social issues; currently he’s interested in the intersections of art and quantum physics … The music is still banging, though.
This gig marks the starts of the annual NYUAD Hackathon for Social Good in the Arab World, focused this year on finding solutions to challenges related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
