City of Stars

Aspiring actress and young jazz musician find love in Los Angeles. Yes, it’s the plot of La-La Land, and City of Stars ∼ which also happens to be one of the better songs from the soundtrack – is an adaptation of the Oscar winner for the stage by Yasseen Ashri, star of numerous Short+Sweet playlets and director of a successful Shakespeare in Love at the Junction last year. He also directs this time, working with two dozen performers from The Greenroom youth theatre group; we’re promised masterful storytelling and breathtaking sets, plus most of the songs from the film.
