Candlelight: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons

One of the Candlelight favourites. Vivaldi wrote the original as concerti for violin and orchestra, but it’s often arranged for a quartet – as here, performed by the Gulf String Quartet. The ambiance is (non-flammable) candlelight, of course. The performance lasts around an hour.

The programme:

Concerto No.1 in E Major, “Spring”
Concerto No.2 in G minor, “Summer”
Concerto No. 3 in F Major, “Autumn”
Concerto No. 4 in F minor, “Winter”
