An emotional biopic about the famed Italian actress Anna Magnani. In 1956, Magnani was in the running for the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role; waiting for the news to arrive, she spends the night wandering the alleys and squares of Rome, among the people who love her and the memories that inhabit her heart. With her, there is a young girl who will become her agent: Carol Levi. Dawn brings her victory, but it is a very brief one … Anna is the story, an impetuous woman and the world of Italian cinema that revolves around her. Above all, there’s Roberto Rossellini, always present in her mind – “an imprint in the heart that lives on even when time has erased everything else”. He will return and this time will never leave … Director Monica Guerritore, who also co-wrote the script, plays Magnani.
