Alice Sara Ott: Echoes of Life

The remarkable young German-Japanese pianist has been winning awards since she was seven; this performance sounds equally impressive in its own way, an autobiographical musical journey built around Chopin’s 24 Preludes (the CD also has seven contemporary works to complete the programme, by György Ligeti, Nino Rota, Chilly Gonzales, Toru Takemitsu, Arvo Pärt, Francesco Tristano, and one of Alice Ott’s own compositions based on Mozart’s Lacrimosa).
