Alam: dir Firas Khoury (2022)

Tamer and his friends lead typical high school students’ lives until the arrival of the beautiful Maysaa.  As he grows closer to her, Tamer agrees to take part in a mysterious flag operation dubbed ‘Alam’ on the eve of Israel’s Independence Day – which is of course a day of mourning for Palestinians.

This screens in 421’s four-day Palestinian Cinema Days, a programme presented in collaboration with Reel Palestine and Cinema Akil that champions independent and alternative cinema for the stories, heritage, and identity of the Palestinian people.

Screenings take place in 421’s outdoor plaza from 7pm on; films include subtitles in English and Arabic where applicable.

All proceeds go to Emirates Red Crescent’s Tarahum – for Gaza campaign. Admission is free with preregistration via the website and a receipt for a donation via Emirates Red Crescent’s payment link (the recommended donation is AED 50).
