Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica

Widely acclaimed for his inventiveness and artistry, the noted Latvian violinist Gidon Kremer is accompanied by his ensemble, Kremerata Baltica — a chamber orchestra of musicians from Baltic countries – in an elegant-looking programme.

    • Jēkabs Jančevskis Lignum for strings, svilpaunieki (Latvian folk ocarina), and percussion
    • R Schumann Violin Concerto in A minor, op.129 after the Cello Concerto (arr. Rene Koering)
    • JS Bach Chaconne from Violin Partita No. 2, BWV 1004, version for string orchestra by Gidon Kremer (arr. Ferruccio Busoni)
    • Alexander Raskatov 5 Minutes from the Life of W.A.M. for violin and strings
    • Astor Piazzolla Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas for violin and strings (transcr. Leonid Desyatnikov)
